Get to Know These Pelican Authors!

Hello out there, and welcome to The Diamond Mine! Today, instead of a single interview, I'm taking the opportunity to shine a spotlight on some fellow Pelican Book Group authors and their recent books. So, join me in welcoming my guest authors, presented here in alphabetical order by their writing name! First up is Kelly Goshorn and the spotlight is on her book: A Love Restored.

She was nothing like the woman he’d envisioned for his bride, but he was everything she’d ever dreamed of—until a promise from his past threatened their future.

With pert opinions and a less-than-perfect figure, Ruth Ann Sutton doesn’t measure up to society’s vision of a perfect lady. When she accepts a position teaching in a Freedman’s School, it threatens the only marriage offer Ruth Ann is likely to receive. She’s forced to choose between life as a lonely spinster or reinventing herself to secure a respectable proposal.
Determined to rise above his meager beginnings, Benjamin Coulter’s reputation as a fast learner and hard worker earn him the opportunity to apprentice with a surveyor for the railroad—a position that will garner the respect of other men. After a chance encounter with Ruth Ann Sutton, Benjamin is smitten with her pretty face, quick wit, and feisty personality.

When others ridicule his choice, will Benjamin listen to his heart or put ambition first?

So readers, be sure to pick up a copy of A Love Restored and jump into a fabulous story you will savor. Here is a quick bio of Kelly, along with purchase and social links:

Kelly Goshorn weaves her affinity for history and her passion for God into uplifting stories of love, faith and family set in nineteenth century America. She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and Romance Writers of America. Kelly has been enjoying her own happily-ever-after with her husband and best friend, Mike, for 28 years. Together they have raised three children, four cats, two dogs, a turtle, a guinea pig, a gecko, and countless hamsters. Thankfully, not all at the same time. When she is not writing, Kelly enjoys spending time with her young adult children, scrapbooking with friends, board gaming with her husband, and spoiling her Welsh corgi, Levi.

Next up is Suzy Parish! Her latest book, Flowers From Afghanistan, is due out on October 1st!  Here's a sneak peek at it:
Weighed down by guilt following the death of his two-year-old son, Mac McCann accepts a year-long position training police officers in Afghanistan. Leaving his wife Sophie to grieve alone, he hopes the life-or-death distractions of his self-imposed exile will build a wall between him and his pain.

As camaraderie builds between Mac and the men on base—including a local barber and his precocious little boy—Mac’s heart becomes invested in stories beyond his own tragedy and he learns he is not the only one running from loss. But when the hour of attack arrives, will he be able to see past his guilt to believe there’s still something—and someone—worth living for?

With touching details based on true events, Flowers from Afghanistan is a redemptive journey of healing, a chronicle of hope in crisis, and a testament to the faithfulness of God through it all.

Sounds like an incredible read! Be sure and mark your calendars and be ready to dive into this amazing story when it releases this October! Here is a bit more about Suzy, along with her links:

Suzy Parish wrote as a Community Columnist for the Huntsville Times and has been published in Splickety Magazine. She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW).

And our next author is Boo Riley (aka Dave Arp) whose latest novel, Jake and Me, is due out July 20th! Just two days! Here's a little preview for you:

Ty doesn’t know God, but then Jake, his best friend, works for him so there has to be one. Jake looks like a coon dog, a Black and Tan, and he only has one eye because he lost it chasing a coon, but Ty believes he’s an angel.
Oh, Jake’s not one of those angels who can protect a kid with a sword or whisk him away on swift wings. He’s just a witness and a watcher who warns him of danger.
Their dad uses his sons, Ty and his twin brother, Cameron, to do his bidding, like his personal slaves. He even hires them out and takes their wages to fill his own pockets. But they’re older now, fifteen and growing in stature, and they know his actions are wrong.
Ty thinks murder will set them free, but such a deed goes against his nature. When the opportunity arises, he can’t do it.
Cameron thinks if they stand together, bow-up and face their father, he’ll back down, but he’s wrong.
When Dad snaps, Jake leads Ty through the woods to a small, stone house, and life takes an incredible turn, leaving no doubt God’s hand is at work.

And now for our last author, please welcome E.A. West! Her latest book, Redeeming Honor is out now and available for purchase!

Meghan Carpenter loves God, her yarn business, and her twin brother Ryan — a former marine who currently lives with her. When she agrees to let his wounded buddy live with them on her small Indiana alpaca farm, she expects an American marine. What she gets is a former Afghan interpreter who’s painfully shy around women.
Scarred from the war, both physically and emotionally, Basir Hamidi is grateful for a place to live. But his attraction to Meghan is a problem. With his honor destroyed by events in his homeland, and nothing to offer her but his broken, scarred self, he vows to avoid her and protect her reputation. Yet he is drawn to her with a strength that can only be God's leading. For a man who has lost everything, letting go of the past is a difficult process. When he must also redeem his honor, his only chance of success is to rely on God.

Another awesome story not to be missed! Here is a bit more about E.A. plus her social and buy links:
